Beginning with a grass-rooted
initiative from Iraqi private sector businessmen and I-ACCI,
the success of DBX would not achieved
without the exerted efforts of our cooperating
partners: the Iraqi Ministry of
Trade, the management of Baghdad
International Fair, Jump Start Organization, Canon, Inmarsat,
MIG, Danimex for their contributions to ensure
a successful DBX .
The
Kurdistan Development Corporation Limited (KDC) is an
initiative established jointly by the Kurdistan Regional
Government (KRG) and international business people to
advise on, develop and implement micro and macro
development projects within the stable and prosperous
region of Iraqi-Kurdistan.
The remit
of the KDC falls between politics and business
development and, as such, the KDC is an Investment
Holdings and Promotions Agency; working in close
conjunction with the Kurdistan Regional Government to
identify and implement projects that accelerate the
redevelopment of Iraqi-Kurdistan.
The KDC
has offices in London and Erbil (both independently and
within the KRG Ministry of Housing), with outreach posts
or personnel in Dohuk, Suleimani, Baghdad and the US (
Boston & Washington ).
Founding
members of the KDC include Siamand Banaa, former UK High
Representative of the KRG and now the Iraqi Ambassador
to The Netherlands and Dr Salah Al-Shaikhly, former
Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, now the Iraqi
Ambassador to the United Kingdom.

Baghdad
International Fair - Iraqi Ministry of Trade
Baghdad International Fair was
founded in 1956. Since that time, the fair has been a host to
millions of people. Each year, tens of thousands of foreign
visitors come to Baghdad in anticipation of opportunities to
build new business relationships and strengthen old ones. The
current site of Baghdad International Fair,
managed by the Iraqi Ministry of Trade,
is located in the center of Baghdad and is about 305,000
sq meters in size. It has been used to accommodate the annual
Baghdad International Fair for about the last 50 years. In its
peak time more than 70 countries and 3000 exhibitors had
participated in displaying their products and services and which
resulted in billions of dollars worth of transactions.
The Ministry of Finance
It is the ministry responsible
for schematizing the financial policy, running, directing the
governmental investment in accordance with those policies
through achieving the integration between the financial and
monetary policy together with the internal and external debt. As
for the cooperation the ministry presents, there was a kind of
coordination done by the committee annexed to the chamber. In
addition to that, the chamber implemented tentative web design
in exchange for tenders the ministry sends to the chamber to be
displayed on our website as for business men to be acquainted
with.
The
Ministry of Trade
This Ministry is the vital
authority which can control the internal and external movement
of trade through its institutions and companies. It is even
responsible for registering national and international companies
and organizing the commercial relationships with the rest of
world countries. This ministry proved to be one of the most
important partners the chamber has since it had taken part in
Diyarbakir DBX. It showed its readiness to assist the chamber in
the process of holding the expo.

The ministry is in charge of
working out the strategies of industrial growth through which
national income increase and industrial activity can be
organized in conformity with regulations, state policies, and
schemes of commercial and social growth. The ministry welcomed

Ministry of Planning and Cooperative Development
This authority works out the
economic policies and plans with which the state can achieve a
kind of stability and conformity with resources available in
Iraq. These plans must be in agreement with the general budget
of the state. It is also responsible for registering non
governmental organizations NGOs which work in Iraq.
Ministry of
Health
Health ministry was founded
in the middle of previous century. Its task is to provide health
and medical services to every Iraqi citizen during normal and
emergency circumstances in the country. The ministry also
administrates the affairs of health and medical cadres in Iraq.
It has a responsibility to provide best requirements of curative
and health preventive security to all individuals of society.
Health services have been developed by the ministry of health
and its facilities .Consultative and service facilities expanded
in a remarkable way. Iraqi people, hospitals and health centers
suffered from wars and destruction. But, in spite of all these
circumstances, health ministry and its cadres could provide best
services to Iraqi citizens
Ministry of
Water Resources
The first office for
irrigation was established at 1918 its gobs were limited
with data collection of levels & discharges of rivers in
addition to flood protection works &water distribution ,then
this office developed to be at a grade of directorate which
was General Directorate of irrigation .At 1969 Ministry of
Water Resources ministry of irrigation previously was then
newly formed while it was responsible of water matters &
improving surface & under ground water resources according
to annual &each five years plans, we can summarize ministry
responsibilities as shown below :
-Small & big dams construction for the purpose of water
storage & flood damages protections & supplying water for
different purposes (agriculture, drinking, electrical power,
industrial, environmental improving).
-Construction of new irrigation projects& using irrigation
machinery systems ( such as sprinkler & drip irrigation) as
well as land reclamation for the existed projects by
constructing systematical irrigation & drainage networks.
-Making use of ground water reasonably in regions with an
available water sources especially in western desert region
by digging water wells & making use of developed storage
water.
-Making specialized studies with all of irrigation projects
& preparing the demanded designs for it.
-Maintenance & operating irrigation & drainage networks with
their services in all of the country governorates including
large & small pump stations in addition to improvement&
maintenance of river flow lines & protecting their blanks.
Ministry of Construction &
Housing
The Ministry of Construction
and Housing wishes to express its sincerest gratitude to all
those who have participated in its activities since its
formation.Their work have made a profound impact on the
society through providing the basic needs in terms of
infrastructure development necessary for the welfare of the
Iraqi people.Our ministry through its site on the internet
wishes to give an exposure of the commissions and companies
that lie under its umbrella. There is a complete
description about the capabilities of each of them and the
works that they have accomplished throughout the years in
addition to the current ongoing works.Three commissions
perform their works in the ministry. The first is the
Housing Commission; the second is the Building Commission
and lastly the Roads and Bridges Commission. More than ten
companies lie within our ministry performing the different
construction activities required by these commissions.
Furthermore, several national centers for consultations,
construction laboratories and research provide services for
the construction market; finally several general
directorates perform efficient work in planning, follow-up,
technical, administrative, legal, financial and commercial
aspects. A newly formed House Holding Bank also provides
mortgage services for the general public where it functions
through directions from our ministry.The Ministry of
Construction and Housing offers services in executing
residential, commercial, industrial, electronic, military,
municipal, road and bridge, airport, school and university,
institutional and governmental building aspects. It
possesses the efficiency and expertise required to lay huge
hopes for building the aspired newly developed Iraq.Finally,
our ministry wishes to express its readiness to have
fruitful cooperation in order to lay the foundations of an
expected construction revolution in our beloved country.
Iraqi Union of Engineers
This union has reinforced the
chamber through providing a location for IACCI’s activities. The
chamber was at the first stage and cooperation continued from
that time.
Ministry of Electricity
Ministry of Electricity was
established in 2003. It was the Commission of Electricity since
1999 and before that the Sector of Electricity, which was one of
the Ministry of Industry creations. Ministry of Electricity is
responsible for generating, transmitting and distributing of the
electrical energy in Iraq.
Goals
The Ministry aims to:

Contribute all the
efforts through the departments of the Ministry
Headquarters and general directorates to operate the
electrical power systems from production and
transmission to distribution and delivering of
electricity to all consumers.

Develop the
electrical power systems to cover the increasing demands
on electrical energy.

Offer the best
services for consumers (domestic, commercial,
industrial, agricultural and governmental).

Develop of the MOE
staff to support the Ministry projects.

Link the electrical
networks with the neighborhood countries and the Arabian
East and to contribute in the Arab market of electrical
power.

Cooperate with other
foundations to raise the efforts to construct programs
and to exchange information and experiences.
